Peanut Butter and Jelly

Ellie the Elephant is the newest children's book I have written. It is doing very well in the ebook format. Her quest with her friend Hakeem the Mouse will have your child wanting to read this book over and over again. The colorful pages and fun story insight the heart of a dreamer in every young reader.

Since Ellie is an elephant, her favorite snack is... Can you guess? It's peanuts, of course! Here is a short poem about Ellie and her snack time.

Peanut butter and jelly tastes good in my belly!
She loves her nutty snack because it brings on a nap attack.
There's nothing like dreamy sleep time to bridge the day into evening time.
Her dreams are sweet and always include a fountain. Whether it's creamy or crunchy she's always the lead adventurer - the Captain.
After she wakes, it's time to move on. There must be something fun to do!
So she calls to her friend through her long blue trunk, and here comes Hakeem jamming to some music - always funk.
The two have fill of their daily quests, then it's time to say goodbye and get even more rest.
She presses rewind in her minds eye, then her dream world continues to soar as she lets out a sleepy sigh.

Big Dreamers

Mom' and Dad's, if you're looking for a morning event to liven up the breakfast table before school or a good bedtime story, this ebook is for you! Ellie the Elephant will inspire your children to DREAM BIG whether it's starting the day or heading into dreamland at night. This quick book boasts of an elephant, Ellie, who is in search of the treasured ice cream tree. She finds it after teaming up wither friend Hakeem the mouse. The two of them splash into a sweet world of adventure as they find just what they are searching for.

I encourage you to get your children a journal they can begin to write their dreams in. Writing is a great tool for them to learn how to express their dreams and make plans to achieve them. Who knows, maybe Ellie will have a Dream Journal for them to write in soon (wink, wink).

Remember, the book will be available in less than two hours!

Dream Big with Ellie the Elephant

Days before a book release is an exciting time. The anticipation of releasing information that has taken time to prepare, thoughts you have prayed over and been given through inspirational moments and just the overall excitement of something new, form a time of energy that is indescribable! Being a published author is a new part of my life. I've had the privilege is ministering and speaking to crowds of people ranging from young children to those well into their "glory years" for over a decade now. Actually writing material and providing it for the public is something I've ventured into with the support of my family and very close friends in the past couple of years. We should never despise the day of small beginnings and new ventures. They stretch and lead us to success.

With that being said, I thank you in advance for supporting this children's ebook. It was written as a tool for parents to train their children to dream big and not stop until a goal is reached. From a child's perspective, it will be a fun way to remember to "be like Ellie" or "eat ice cream with sprinkles" (you'll figure out why soon). The pages in this book are colorful and memorable so they will trigger the mind of children when they face a challenge or have a moment when quitting seems like a more viable option. My prayer is that this ebook will inspire your little ones to reach for the stars in every endeavor they make.

Ellie the Elephant will be available for purchase at the following locations (more to come in the future):
- smashwords.com
- alcc.org bookstore

For those that don't have a modern-day reader, you can also download the book onto your smart phone or computer. Posters of Ellie the Elephant and her mouse friend Hakeem will also be available for purchase. You can get those at the Abundant Life Christian Center bookstore.

Only 2 more days until Ellie the Elephant can become part of your ebook library!

A New Friend in the Kid's Book Family

I am so excited to be releasing my second children's book next week! I never thought that I would be writing kids books. I started writing these whimsical stories during church services at Abundant Life. There is truly an anointing of creativity that gets activated in God's presence.

Our God has the best creative ideas. Look at the world around and you can see His detail. He places that same heart in each of us so we can live full, fun lives. We should have fun and think outside of the box in life. Well, that process was stirred in me a couple of years ago and it has continued since then. It's a little funny because I don't typically think quite like these books. I'm slightly more straight laced when it comes to books and the reading material I choose. I guess that's God's way of showing that His perfect will for us isn't always what we think it will be. I love serving a God that continually surprises me with new abilities and creative moments.

Ellie the Elephant is an adventurous character that wants to fulfill her dreams. She climbs mountains and finds sweet treats along the way. She and her friend, who is ironically a mouse, have a blast as they find out that their dreams can come true.

I can't wait to share this story with you on September 10. It will be available via ebook. So get those readers ready!
